The French Spring Festival is proud to welcome one of the leading figures of the French electro revolution, DJ Sven Løve who will perform live on 17th June at Sugar 41 in Colombo, after the set of two Sri Lankan DJs.
Then on the 18th of June at the Alliance Française de Kotte, the film projection of Eden – on the history of techno movement in Paris – will be organized, followed by a Q&A session and a cocktail with the participation of the artiste.
Born in Paris, Sven is one of the pioneers of the rave generation producing “garage” music – a mix of house, soul, gospel and disco. He is now a representative of the French house stage named the “French touch” alongside with the famous Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, Air or Justice.
First a DJ, he soon started organizing the mythical parties “Cheers” with his partner Greg Gauthier. The members of this underground movement had the filling of living a revolution. Everything was new: the music, the parties, the concerts’ sites …
In 2014, Sven and his sister, the filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve, created the movie Eden. This autobiography of Sven’s life recounts his night-time path where electro lit up Paris. The movie tries to faithfully adapt the truth of this time between drug addictions, money, fame and personal relationships.
